February

Here's a look a what we will be up to in February!
Reading:
We spend the beginning of each day reading in our reading groups. One of our favorite stories is about Abraham Lincoln and his son. This month we will also spend some time reading about
Groundhog’s Day and Valentine’s Day.
Writing:
In writing, we will be reviewing sentence structure. We will be able to tell the difference between asking and telling sentences.  We will be writing Valentine poems and solving silly valentine problems like, “What should Mrs. Pig give her piglets for Valentine’s Day?”
Math:
In math we will be working on 2 digit addition and subtraction. Keep
working on addition and subtraction facts. We all need practice! Make sure you have a set of flash cards for each. We will have an ice cream party for those that learn their addition facts by the end of February!
Social Studies:
We will be working on our country projects. Each student will choose their own country to report on.
Science:
We will learn about plants and how they grow.
